Peca Underground – Mežica Mine
Among the region’s most recognisable experiences is the Mežica tourist mine – Peca Underground, part of the Karavanke UNESCO Global Geopark. The former lead and zinc mine now offers unique tours deep underground: by authentic miners’ train, by bicycle through abandoned tunnels or by kayak through the flooded parts of the mine. It is one of the most special underground experiences in Slovenia.
