Hiking trails

Okoli nas najdete naslednje pohodniške poti: Bernekerjeva pot, Pot na Kremžarjev vrh, pot na Črni vrh (najvišji vrh Pohorja 1054m) in Ribniško kočo (1027m) in druge.

BERNEKER TRAIL

The Berneker Trail begins at the homestead, named after one of the most important Slovenian Impressionist sculptors, Franc Berneker (1874–1932).

The trail is suitable for cycling, hiking and horse riding. It leads to what was once his birth house, where today only the foundations of a typical Pohorje “bajta” cottage and a memorial plaque can be seen.

From here, you can also head towards Kremžarjev vrh (1164 m).
The trail to Berneker’s homestead takes you past the beautiful little Church of St. Barbara, which is a fine example of Gothic architecture in Carinthia. St. Barbara, the patron saint of miners, also confirms the fact that Pohorje ore – tonalite and Pohorje marble – was once mined in this area.
If you continue along the circular route, it takes you past numerous Pohorje farms – “celki”, i.e. self-contained units of isolated hill farms.

KREMŽARJEV VRH

Among the popular scenic destinations in the area is Kremžarjev vrh, known for its viewing tower and panoramic views of the Mislinja Valley, Pohorje and the wider Carinthia region. Due to its good accessibility and well-maintained trails, it is a popular destination for all generations.

The entire area is complemented by numerous marked hiking and cycling trails, allowing visitors to explore nature from easy walks to more demanding mountain tours. The varied terrain and unspoilt environment allow every visitor to find an activity to their liking.

ČRNI VRH (the highest peak of Pohorje, 1054 m) and Ribniška koča (1027 m)

On Pohorje, Črni vrh (1,543 m), the highest peak of Pohorje, stands out as an important starting point for exploring the high peat bog landscape. In its immediate vicinity lies Ribniško jezero, a popular and easily accessible excursion point with well-maintained walking trails, views and a starting point for hikes towards Ribniška koča and Črni vrh.

Slightly further east, in the central part of Pohorje, are the Lovrenc Lakes, a unique high peat bog area with a chain of smaller lakes connected by wooden footbridges. A walk among the lakes is considered one of the most recognisable natural experiences of Pohorje and is a popular destination for nature lovers and families.
